Newport Beach Fat Grafting Cosmetic Procedure | Dr. Mohsen Tavoussi

Newport Beach Fat Grafting is a technique used to transfer one’s own adipose tissue from an undesirable area to a new area. It is often used to plump the face, especially the areas around the eyes, nasolabial folds and cheeks. When used in this way, it can decrease the look of tiredness, age and stress. Fat grafting may also be used to increase the size of the buttocks or the breasts. It can also be used to increase the circumference of the penis.

Fat Grafting & Other Newport Beach Cosmetic Surgery

Dr. Tavoussi performs fat grafting as well as numerous other cosmetic surgery techniques at the OC Cosmetic Surgery Clinique in Newport Beach, California. The Clinique serves the entire Orange County area and serves patients of all ethnic backgrounds with great success. The fat grafting is performed just north of the Clinique at the Pacifica Outpatient Surgery Center. The modern surgical suites here offer patients both safety and security in an easy location.

Fat grafting is performed in three steps. During the first step, the adipose tissue is removed from the donor site, which is often the abdomen or thighs. Second, the adipose tissue is cleansed using centrifugation. Finally, it is reinjected in microscopic amounts.

This procedure is performed under general anesthesia using the services of the anesthesiologists at the surgery center. Following the procedure, the patient will recover in a post-operative room under the supervision of ACLS-certified registered nurses who have years of surgical experience. The patient will then return home to recover fully. He or she will want to rest for the first several days and will need to take some prescription pain medication initially. A couple days after the fat grafting, patients will need to return to the OC Cosmetic Surgery Clinique for a follow-up appointment at which Dr. Tavoussi will examine the incision and give further instructions for recovery.

Recovery After Newport Beach Fat Grafting
Patients will initially notice some swelling around the areas where fat grafting was performed. Typically, only between 20 and 95 percent of the grafts take. However, patients may have to wait several weeks or even months to see exactly how much of the grafts have taken. We are confident that our patients will be quite pleased with the results. In fact, prior to the procedure, Dr. Tavoussi will be able to provide patients with an idea of how they will look following fat grafting by using our state-of-the-art digital computer technology that simulates post-surgical results.
